Ruturaj Gaikwad is an Indian cricketer who represents the Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He was born on January 31, 1997, in Pune, Maharashtra.

Ruturaj Gaikwad was picked by the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the IPL auction for the 2019 season but did not get an opportunity to play.
He was retained by CSK for the 2020 season and made his IPL debut against the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 13th season of the tournament.
He scored 5 runs in his debut match and was dismissed by Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
However, in his next match against the Kings XI Punjab, he scored his maiden IPL half-century and helped CSK to a comfortable victory.
He went on to score two more half-centuries in the tournament and finished the season with 204 runs in 6 matches at an average of 51.00.
In the 2021 season, he struggled initially and was dropped from the playing XI after scoring just 5 runs in the first three matches.
However, he made a strong comeback and scored three consecutive half-centuries in the later stages of the tournament. He finished the season with 530 runs in 16 matches at an average of 35.33 and was the leading run-scorer for CSK.
